Ugh I keep forgetting to update this stupid thing. I come up with topics for entries in the shower and then I forget -__- It seems I only get around to
working on this website when I'm avoiding responsibilities. And anyway, highlights have been few and far between so I guess it's better to just
write them all down in one entry.
I invited a friend over to play videogames and it triggered memories of when I was a kid.
When I was younger, I had a relative live with us to look after me and my brother. I had friends who got off at the same bus stop a
block away from my house, and when their parents weren't there we would bring them over to our house until they got picked up.
When we got older, our relative moved out and everyone became latchkey kids so they stopped visiting, or it at least got rarer.
I think my hangups are because of my insecurities or nervousness about being a good host and remembering all the rules
for having someone over. I had a lot of fun playing with my friend, but I was also nervous about teaching them how to play without
explaining everything and making it exhausting. But also, the fact I was able to sit still for 3 hours straight is an accomplishment.
I also brought my family to a board game cafe and my brother taught us how to play Catan. My parents really enjoyed it, because I want to try playing
games with them and playing any board games we want for 3 hours is a pretty good deal. My dad only likes certain kinds of videogames, and my mom only really
watches me play Taiko when she's bored. my brother and dad are both strategist and predictably picked up on it really fast, meanwhile I formed an alliance with
my mom which SUCKED because she keeps getting bricks and placed her settlements too close together. We ended up buying our own copy at Game Shack, specifically
the newer version because it's compatible with the seafaring expansion which my brother wants to try (he really likes the sea)
I haven't made much progress on Shadows of Almia since I got stuck on this stealth part of the game, so I ended up playing pokemon explorers of sky. I finished it
and I'm currently doing the postgame, and then I plan to do the special episodes. but. I can completely understand why people love this game and dedicate
whole blogs to the explorers of time/darkness/sky series. ITS SO GOOD i formed an emotional attachment to every single character and enjoyed the pacing and how much
though went into each mechanic, especially the recycling shop. I'm currently trying very hard to resist creating another pokeask blog which will inevitably lose steam,
but it is a losing battle because I have already made a loose plotline and ideas for a character. I'm fucked
